What it means
Bicycles are not allowed on this road.
White with black or red; a red circle with a slash means prohibited, a green circle means permitted.
Summarised from the Official MTO Driver’s Handbook. Read the original: MTO Driver’s Handbook – Signs ↗
How to recognise it
A white square with a black bicycle inside a red circle with a red slash.
Where you will see it
Freeway entrance ramps, bridges and tunnels, and expressways where bicycles are prohibited.
What to do when you see it
- 1.Cyclists must not ride on this road. It is usually a freeway or a road with no safe space for bicycles.
- 2.As a driver, do not expect a cyclist here, but stay alert: someone may have missed the sign.
- 3.If you are cycling, take the alternative route, which is often signed nearby.
On the G1 test
Red circle and slash means prohibited; the symbol says what. Do not read it as a warning about cyclists ahead.
