What it means

Orange signs mark construction zones and other temporary conditions.
Summarised from the Official MTO Driver’s Handbook. Read the original: MTO Driver’s Handbook – Signs ↗
How to recognise it
An orange sign with a black figure holding up a paddle: a traffic control person.
Where you will see it
Single-lane sections of a work zone where traffic from both directions takes turns, and at construction entrances.
What to do when you see it
- 1.Slow down and be ready to stop; the paddle turns from STOP to SLOW.
- 2.Obey the traffic control person's signals exactly; they override the usual rules and signs.
- 3.Wait for the wave-through before moving, and keep to the speed they set.
On the G1 test
Traffic control person ahead, drive slowly and watch for instructions. The point of the question is that their directions must be obeyed.
