Regulatory signs
No standing
What it means
Do not stand in the area between the signs. You may not stop your vehicle here except while loading or unloading passengers.
White with black or red; a red circle with a slash means prohibited, a green circle means permitted.
Summarised from the Official MTO Driver’s Handbook. Read the original: MTO Driver’s Handbook – Signs ↗
How to recognise it
A white sign with the words NO STANDING in red, and an arrow showing which side of the sign the zone covers. Used in pairs, like the other two.
Where you will see it
Taxi stands, hotel and hospital entrances, and busy downtown curbs where quick drop-offs are allowed but waiting is not.
What to do when you see it
- 1.You may stop only while passengers are getting in or out.
- 2.Do not wait for someone, and do not load or unload goods.
- 3.Stay in the driver's seat and move on as soon as the passenger is out.
On the G1 test
The middle option of the three. Passengers in or out: yes. Loading goods or waiting: no. If the question mentions merchandise, the answer is not this sign.
