Tourist attraction
What it means
Information signs in colours other than green guide you to attractions along the road.
Green, blue and brown signs give directions, distances and services.
Summarised from the Official MTO Driver’s Handbook. Read the original: MTO Driver’s Handbook – Signs ↗
How to recognise it
A brown square with a white symbol, here a camera. Other brown signs show a tent, a boat, a picnic table or the name of the attraction.
Where you will see it
Highways near provincial parks, conservation areas, museums, wineries and tourist regions.
What to do when you see it
- 1.Follow it to the attraction; brown signs mark parks, historic sites and points of interest.
- 2.Expect slow or turning traffic near a popular attraction, and tour buses on the shoulder.
On the G1 test
Brown means attractions, blue means services, green means directions and distances. Learn the three colours as a set.
