Regulatory signs
Slower traffic keep right
What it means
Slower vehicles must use the right-hand lane so faster traffic can pass on the left.
White with black or red; a red circle with a slash means prohibited, a green circle means permitted.

How to recognise it
A white rectangle with the words SLOWER TRAFFIC KEEP RIGHT in black, posted on roads with more than one lane in each direction.
Where you will see it
Freeways and multi-lane highways, especially at the start of long hills and passing lanes.
What to do when you see it
- 1.If you are driving slower than the traffic around you, move to the right lane.
- 2.Use the left lane to pass, then return to the right.
- 3.On a two-lane highway with a climbing or passing lane, stay right except when passing.
On the G1 test
The rule behind the sign is that the left lane is for passing. A question about a slow driver in the left lane expects the answer that they should move right.
