Warning signs
Roundabout ahead
What it means
A roundabout is ahead — reduce speed. The counter-clockwise arrows show the direction traffic travels inside the roundabout.
Yellow diamonds (and five-sided yellow-green school signs) warn of hazards ahead.

How to recognise it
A yellow diamond with a ring of black arrows chasing each other counter-clockwise.
Where you will see it
Suburban arterials and rural intersections rebuilt as roundabouts, and the ramp terminals of some newer interchanges.
What to do when you see it
- 1.Reduce speed on the approach and choose your lane early using the signs and pavement arrows.
- 2.Yield to traffic already circulating and to pedestrians at the crosswalks, then enter to the right and travel counter-clockwise.
- 3.Signal right before your exit and do not stop inside the roundabout.
On the G1 test
The handbook says roundabout ahead, reduce speed, and that the counter-clockwise arrows show the direction of traffic inside. Traffic in the roundabout has the right-of-way over traffic entering it.
